Key Stage 3 Progress Steps

Our monitoring and reporting of student progress at Key Stage 3 (Year 7 and 8) is designed to:

  • Inform parents of how well their child is doing in terms of their academic progress
  • Make sure students know exactly how to improve their performance in each subject
  • Support staff in planning for progress for every student
  • Quickly identify students who are falling behind and are at risk of underachieving so that we can intervene effectively to make sure they catch up.

Our system of monitoring progress at Key Stage 3 (years 7 and 8) uses Progress Stages for each subject. These are:

  • Foundation
  • Emerging
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced.

You can find the subject specific progress steps grids on the right of this page.
